We are a group of business and community leaders that have the passion, experience and expertise to create a collaborative group that can help make Sherburn in Elmet a great community to live and work.
We all have the same aims, helps to bring the community and businesses together and creates a powerful resource to improve our towns economy and environment.
We officially launched We Are Sherburn in 2023 September but the group formed over the summer months of 2023.
All businesses, community groups and education providers, large and small located within Sherburn-in-Elmet or surrounding areas.
If you are from the surrounding area then yes but unfortunately due to it being very localised we cannot accept members from a distance.

The Resident magazine is delivered through the door of every house in Sherburn-in-Elmet, 4 times per year.

Monthly meetings will be held locally, and you will receive a personalised invitation to these stating the location, as this will vary. Meetings are for members only but non members are welcome to one meeting to try it out.
Nope. Breakfast will be included too, this is all included in your membership. Please check out the meeting date here: https://wearesherburn.co.uk/events/. If you bring someone else, there will be a small charge to cover breakfast.
Yes, of course, We are delighted to welcome everyone. You may attend one meeting to see if you would like to become a member. There is a small charge.

Clare Thornton – Chair of Board
Clare is the Managing Director of Thornton Jones Solicitors who have offices across Yorkshire, but most specifically in Sherburn. She is also on the board of Trustees for the STAR Multi Academy Trust which operates Sherburn High School, Tadcaster Grammar and 9 of the local primary schools.
The board consists of Five local experts who have established connections in Sherburn in Elmet.
