On the 14th September 2023 we held a breakfast and an early evening launch event at the Motorist. We were delighted that over 100 local business folk, community organisations and school representatives were able to attend across the events and the buzz of excitement about the future was palpable. We were proud to welcome our new MP, Keir Mather to the event, along with Keane Duncan who is the conservative candidate for North Yorkshire mayor. It was great to see two young people who have differing politics but are working hard for our local area. As a result of the great efforts of a small but fabulous group of volunteers, We are Sherburn now has over 80 members and is growing month on month. We are proud to be connecting people to ensure Sherburn and the surrounding villages are a great place to work, play and learn.
Keeping things local
One of the purposes of We are Sherburn is to help our members promote their services to the residents of Sherburn and the surrounding villages. All of our members get a premium listing as part of their membership fee on the website www.sherburninelmet.co.uk and we have been working hard to get the website as up to date as possible. So if you want to know anything about the local businesses and community groups in our area check out the website before you do anything else and support local!
