We would like to thank everyone that attended our January meeting at the 1st All Saints Sherburn in Elmet Scout Group. To have 50 members in attendance was brilliant and it was great to welcome 6 new members on board.
The morning was a fantastic opportunity to see their recently renovated Scout Hut and meet Helen Marshall, Chair of the Trustee board along with volunteers from within the team that give up their time to over 150 young people each week, allowing them to develop essential life and employability skills.
It was also brilliant to hear personally from Alex Richardson on his journey through Scouts, from such a young age through to Explorer level (including many opportunities to travel internationally himself!) to now embarking on his first year in Durham University, where already he has been signed up to support their Scout Group Committee!
A huge thank you to the Scouts for putting us through our paces with your practical activities and to all our members for attending.
